The City of Martinsburg needed a permanent home for its growing Stormwater Utility. At the time, the department operated from the Martinsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The City selected OMNI Associates – Architects to evaluate its needs and develop a long-term solution. OMNI met with City leadership to plan and program the new space.

Together, the team determined that an expansion of the Martinsburg Public Works facility offered the best solution. The expansion created a modern, central workspace for the City’s Street, Sanitation, and Stormwater Departments.

The new space gave the Stormwater Utility a permanent location that better supports its daily operations. Bringing the three departments together also helped the City use its Public Works facility more efficiently.

Moving the Stormwater Utility created another benefit. The move freed valuable space within the Martinsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant for other City needs.

The Martinsburg Public Works facility on Boston Street now brings several essential City services together in one location. Updated workspaces support each department while improving the overall use of the property.

Through careful planning, OMNI helped Martinsburg solve an immediate space challenge. The project also created a practical solution that can support the City’s operations for years to come.
