The Fairmont Readiness Center provides a secure training and operations facility for the West Virginia Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve. OMNI Associates – Architects provided architectural design services for the 91,500-square-foot facility.
Designed to support approximately 150 members, the center brings a wide range of military functions together in one location. The facility includes administrative offices, educational and assembly spaces, a library, learning center, secure vault, weapons simulator, and physical fitness areas.
A dedicated maintenance shop provides work bays and administrative space for vehicle and equipment maintenance. The site also includes areas for weapons cleaning, equipment storage, vehicle washing, fuel storage, loading, and controlled waste handling.
Security played an important role in the planning and design of the Fairmont Readiness Center. OMNI incorporated required physical security and antiterrorism measures throughout the property. The site layout provides appropriate distances between the building and nearby roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading
