Fairmont Fire Department Station No. 2
  • Fairmont, West Virginia
  • 8,300 SQ. FT.
  • Architectural and Design Services
  • Project Cost: $3,000,000
  • Completed 2021

Omni Associates—Architects was selected through a competitive process to work with the City and Fire Department to plan, design and construct a new Fire Station for the East Side of Fairmont. In addition to providing design services, Omni provided pre-development site selection services.
The new facility replaces the City’s current 100+ year old East Side Station allowing the Fire Department to have greater response time in the community and throughout the station. Omni worked hand in hand with the Department to program functional adjacencies in the new facility such as the proximity of the sleeping quarters to the apparatus bays, which were designed to accommodate future growth as they are capable of housing a ladder truck as well as an ambulance.
The facility has separate and distinct public and private sections. The private side for the four firefighters (3 shifts), includes individual per shift bunk rooms, a training room, exercise room, locker room, kitchen, and day room.
Enhanced health and safety areas were designed such as a decon area and hose storage in the apparatus bay, which includes a complete vehicle exhaust system.
