Mon Health – Heart & Vascular Center
Mon Health Elkins serves as a primary cardiovascular clinic for the Mon Health System in Elkins, West Virginia. OMNI Associates – Architects provided architectural design services for the 7,700-square-foot healthcare facility.
The clinic brings several cardiovascular services together in one location. It includes 12 exam rooms, a full cardiovascular rehabilitation gym, and specialized spaces for stress testing, ultrasound, and echocardiography.
OMNI also incorporated flexible space for a future nuclear medicine component. This approach allows the facility to adapt as services and patient needs evolve.
Although the building falls under a Business Occupancy classification, OMNI incorporated several more stringent healthcare design standards. These measures helped the facility meet the specific needs of Mon Health, its providers, and patients.
Efficient workflow played an important role in the interior layout. OMNI carefully organized clinical and support spaces to help staff move efficiently throughout the facility. At the same time, the design places a strong emphasis on the patient experience.
Warm interior finishes create a comfortable healthcare environment. Local artwork adds character to the space and connects the facility with the surrounding Elkins community.
The exterior combines low-maintenance materials with a pedestrian-friendly scale. OMNI also designed the building to meet the architectural standards established for the Elkins Railyard development.
Together, the clinical spaces, rehabilitation areas, and patient-focused interiors create a welcoming environment for cardiovascular care. The flexible design also provides room for the clinic to expand its services in the future.
Completed in 2018, the $2.6 million Mon Health Elkins facility provides a dedicated home for cardiovascular services in the central region of West Virginia.
